Sanctuary Everywhere shelters the boundless creative energy of more than 500 young artists who participated in the fall season of ARTS programs. Reflecting on the power of creativity to imagine worlds where we all belong, we learned how we build sanctuaries everyday through our connections with ourselves, our words of kindness and demands for justice, and the ways in which we care for one another.
This season young people in our programs explored the meaning of safety and belonging, designed their own portals, painted murals in public spaces, stepped into brave spaces and experimented with maker tools, weaved forts and networks of care, commemorated their loved ones, and imagined safer, kinder worlds to build the sanctuaries you will find throughout this exhibition.
