ARTS Covid-19 Response

Our Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

How ARTS is Protecting Our Students + Staff

Like you, we are watching with concern as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic spreads around the planet, and disrupts people’s lives. As an organization serving our local communities, A Reason To Survive (ARTS) is taking all precautions possible to put the health and safety of youth and their families, as well as our staff, interns, volunteers, teaching artists front and center.

To protect our students + staff, and to prevent further spread of the virus, all events and programming, including after school programming, will be suspended until April 6th.

Please continue to check this page for the most current updates on ARTS Center closures and resources in regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Measures We’re Implementing

Due to reported community spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in San Diego County, ARTS will be adhering to the guidelines set out by the county and statewide public health agencies, including: the practice of “social distancing”, limiting and/or postponing programs, and canceling events (through April 6).  Here is the link from the County of San Diego with updates and info: Coronavirus-SD.

We hope that you’re taking all measures to stay healthy!

Steps we’re taking:

  • All events, public meetings, and the like scheduled to take place at ARTS between March 12 – April 6 have been postponed or canceled. Check back for more updates.
  • ARTS After School classes will be canceled for the week of March 16-20, with the ARTS Center closed over the Spring Break period, March 23 – April 3.  For now, we are planning to resume classes (as scheduled) the week of April 6-10. This is subject to change as the situation evolves.
  • While classes next week won’t be happening, ARTS is still hard at work on developing and improving programs and services for youth, while at the same time communicating precautionary steps the organization is taking to parents and families.  We will be constantly monitoring the email accounts listed below, don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns.
