Janie DeCelles, Treasurer

Janie has a diverse background in marketing and finance. As a Partner with Trammel Crow Company, she worked in commercial real estate leasing and development. Her final project with TCC was a $10 Million biotech build-to-suit headquarters for the Immune Response Corporation. She founded an international wine exporting and marketing company, Cardiff Vintners International. Since 1994, Janie has worked in the long term care planning arena, where she established what became the San Diego Regional Division for GE Capital Assurance.
Janie is now retired and is involved in making a difference in her community in a number of different ways. She currently serves as Treasurer on the San Diego Foundation’s Regional Disaster Fund Board (member since 2003). She is Board Secretary for the San Diego River Park Foundation (member since 2002). As a Board Member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Club of San Diego, she has helped run their non-profit fellowship program since it’s inception in 2005. Since 2011, she has been Co-Chair of the Campaign for Gateway Park for the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy, a project to raise $3.75 Million to purchase prime ocean view property adjacent to the Lagoon.
Janie has a Finance degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and received her MBA from Harvard Business School. She lives in Cardiff by the Sea with her Ragdoll kitten, Zuli. Janie has been an avid photographer her entire life. She is a glass blower and loves working with color and light to create pleasing shapes. She is also a woodworker, and won the Sam Maloof award at Palomar College for her unique coffee table using wood from their Urban Forestry program.
