In 2009, ARTS was contacted by filmmakers Sean and Andrea Nix Fine because they saw a statistic that 1 in 45 youth will experience homelessness in America. They wanted to tell that story through the eyes of a homeless teenager who dreamt of being an artist. This documentary is about former ARTS’ student Inocente and her journey of how the arts transformed her life.

In 2013, Inocente won the Academy Award for Best Short Subject Documentary.
